INDEPENDENT FUNERAL CELEBRANT
ABOUT ME...
I am an Independent Funeral Celebrant, supporting and working with families to create a very personal, tailor-made service, to honour the life and memories of their deceased loved ones. I work with non-religious, semi-religious, mixed-faith, spiritual and holistic ceremonies that honour loved ones with sensitivity, compassion and dignity. I am open to delivering whatever type of service is required, no matter how unusual or extravagant the requests may be.
I will assist you in choosing music, poetry, readings or prayers and I can also organise Visual Tributes, Webcasts, and an Order of Service should you require one. I will sit and talk with you about your loved one so that I can write a fitting tribute in the form of a eulogy, which truly represents them as a person and hopefully captures the essence of who they really were.
I regularly take services at Hemel Hempstead Crematorium, West Herts Crematorium, Chilterns Crematorium, Green Acres Beaconsfield, Breakspear Crematorium, and Oak Hill Crematorium, as well as working with families to deliver memorial events at any location that suits them, as a separate celebration of life, before or after the cremation or burial has taken place. I work in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey, and London, but I am willing to travel further afield if required.
Previously, I was a professional actor and storyteller for nearly 30 years and during that time, I have understood how the memories of people can be kept alive and passed down, by the collating and sharing of their stories. It is a great privilege to be able to be involved in this work of keeping memories alive. Whatever the circumstances of death, a funeral service is an opportunity to celebrate the life of the deceased, as well as an incredibly important time for those experiencing shock and grief to come together and support each other.
I have many years of experience in public speaking, and also in writing. The creation of a eulogy as a tribute to a loved one, whilst working closely and openly with the family to give the truest and most vivid recollection of their loved one’s experiences and true character, is something that I feel passionately about and which I feel I can add creativity, depth and compassion to, so that everyone in attendance can experience the best and most heart-felt service possible.
I trained with the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants in 2019 and am affiliated with the National Association of Funeral Directors. I am based in Hertfordshire.
